  • Graduated in 1983 from the University of Toronto with a BASc in Civil Engineering
    Designated by the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario as a Professional Engineer in 1999
  • An employee of the Canadian Forces Europe, in Lahr West Germany, from 1984 to 1989. Structural engineering duties included: the supervision of consultants for design projects, the monitoring and evaluation of project submissions and facility performance, and the preparation of D&S packages for numerous projects, including the restoration of Lahr's 3,000-metre main runway.
  • An employee of Defence Construction Canada (DCC), in Ottawa, from 1990 to 1993. Airfield engineering duties included: the preparation of airfield pavement D&S packages for numerous projects, the creation of an airfield pavement history database for the Department of National Defence (DND), development and implementation of a pavement and aircraft loading classification system known as ACN/PCN, and siting approval for new construction at DND airfields.
  • Self employed as a home inspector in Northumberland County from 1994 to 1995. Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI).
  • An employee of DCC and Public Works Canada, in Trenton, from 1995 to 1998. Environmental engineering duties included: implementation of dry and liquid waste minimization projects at CFB Trenton, the production of user and maintenance manuals for specialized environmental equipment, removal of underground storage tanks, and the project officer responsible for the D&B project for the replacement of three one-million-litre above-ground jet fuel tanks and associated distribution system.
  • Self employed as a technical writer for Brookfield, LePage Johnson Controls (BLJC), in Markham, from 1998 to 1999. Duties included: reviewing of existing environmental policies and the researching of current environmental legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines for the production of the BLJC Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures manual, development of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) operational manual, and the background research for the development of a BLJC Health and Safety procedures manual.
  • An employee of CDW Engineering Ltd. from 2000 to present. Duties include inspecting residential and commercial buildings of various descriptions and reporting on conditions of major components such as structure, building envelope, asphalt and mechanical systems.
